Das Nahostportal Alsharq organisiert im Juni 2019 eine Politische Studienreise nach Tunesien.

While many of the 2011 uprisings in Northern Africa and Western Asia were brutally suppressed and/or led to civil war, Tunisia is reaping its fruit of the so called "Jasmine Revolution". The people's struggle not only brought an end to the authoritarian rule of Ben Ali but established  a lively and diverse political party spectrum. The introduction of a new democratic constitution in 2014 and the award of the Nobel Peace Prize in 2015 are milestones in the process of democratization.

During this political study tour you will get to know the political status quo eight years after the revolution through both briefings and discussions with politicians and activists. Further we will get to know the rich history and cultural diversity of a country with an African, Arab and post-colonial identity. It is also our goal to show you beautiful spots both in the center and off the beaten track, such as the Medina of Tunis or the Oasis town of Tozeur. Most importantly we aim to create encounters with all layers of society. Thanks to our guiding team that lives in Tunisia we will also enable meetings in an informal setting.

Alsharq-Reisen werden von Experten der jeweiligen Länder geleitet und bieten vielseitige und interessante Einblicke in die facettenreichen Gesellschaften des Nahen Ostens. Auf dem Programm stehen unter anderem Wanderungen, Strände, Oasen und geschichtsträchtige Städte. Seit 2009 organisiert Alsharq politische Studienreisen in verschiedene Länder der arabischen Welt und kann auf eine große Erfahrung in diesem Bereich zurückgreifen.
