Enpact Business Breakfast – Startup mentoring

Bereits zum dritten Mal in diesem Jahr luden die Startup-Experten von enpact und die DAFG – Deutsch-Arabische Freundschaftsgesellschaft e.V. am 28. April 2017 zu einem Business Breakfast in die Friedrichstraße 185 ein. Im Mittelpunkt der Veranstaltung stand das Startup Mentoring Programm von enpact, das Startups aus der MENA-Region und Afrika fördert und einen wichtigen Austausch mit den Startup-Ökosystemen in Europa ermöglicht. Anschließend nutzten die Teilnehmer die Gelegenheit, bei einem schmackhaften Frühstück Kontakte zu knüpfen und sich über das Programm informieren zu lassen.   

Das Startup Mentoring Programm dauert acht Monate und erstreckt sich auf drei großen Regionen: Westafrika, die MENA-Region (Ägypten, Jordanien und Tunesien) und Ostafrika. Das Programm läuft parallel in diesen Regionen und in Europa:  Ein Startup-Camp befindet sich in Europa und ein Startup-Camp in Afrika. Ein persönlicher Mentor, der erfahren und ein Business-Experte ist, besucht die Camps persönlich und pflegt den Kontakt durch monatliche Telefongespräche. Außerdem werden monatliche Events veranstaltet, die lokale Startups involvieren.

Beim anschließenden Q&A stellten die Teilnehmer begeistert ihre Fragen, die sich auf die spezifischen Länder der Regionen, Anmeldungsfristen und die Organisierung bezogen. Anwesend waren auch ehemalige Stipendiaten und Mentoren, die ihre Erfahrungen teilten und die Einzigartigkeit des Programms betonten. Danach ging es über zum Frühstück, bei dem die Gäste nochmals die Gelegenheit bekamen, sich auszutauschen und zu networken.

The startup experts of enpact and the German-Arab Friendship Association (DAFG) invited for the third time this year on the 28^th of April 2017 to a business breakfast in the Friedrichstraße 185.
The event focused on enpact’s startup mentoring program, which supports startups of the MENA region and Africa and allows an important exchange with the startup ecosystems in Europe.
Afterwards during the delicious breakfast the participants took the opportunity to establish contacts and to get further informations about the program.

The startup mentoring program lasts eight months and extends across three big regions: West Africa, the MENA region (Egypt, Jordan and Tunisia) and East Africa. The program operates in those regions and Europe simultaneously: One startup camp is located in Europe and one startup camp in Africa. A personal mentor, who is experienced and a business expert, visits the camps personally and keeps in touch with monthly calls. Furthermore monthly events involving local startups are organized.

During the subsequent Q&A the participants asked their questions enthusiastically, which referred to the specific countries of the regions, the registration periods and the organization. Former fellows and mentors also attended the event who shared their experiences and underlined the uniqueness of the program. Afterwards discussions were resumed at a nice breakfast, at which the guests got once again the opportunity to exchange ideas and to connect.
